Professional Monitoring and Management System

The BBS Professional System is a simple to operate energy auditing system that works straight out of the box. It is ideal for people who want to get an accurate, detailed view on their energy consumption either by staff member, by department or by building. Data is collected every 10 seconds and can be displayed on a hosted platform or on a locally installed server as either energy consumed, money spent or carbon produced. The equipment uses meter grade energy measuring circuits to ensure the results are penny perfect.
By default, the BBS Professional Active Energy Management ("AEM") technology is disabled but after a week of measuring the current state of play within your office you can switch on the BBS AEM system to start saving you money overnight and at the weekends. Reports are generated automatically showing the savings the AEM system has achieved.
Simple to install
Installation is relatively simple so audits can be set up very quickly by replacing an existing 4 way socket with the BBS Professional 5 way Anti Surge Smart Strip. This communicates via wireless to the BBS Zone Controller. The equipment is suitable for use on all office based IT equipment such as desk based PC systems, photocopiers, vending machines, printers, audio/visual equipment, televisions, plasma screens and servers. With this level of flexibility you are able to start measuring how much individual pieces of equipment cost to run and begin the process of identifying the energy hogs within your organisation.
Analyse energy consumption on a person-by-person or department-by-department basis
For the first time, you now have the power to show people their energy use on an individual or departmental basis. This means that corporate energy reduction schemes that are sometimes impersonal and remote can now be made personal and local to the individuals concerned. This leads to a greater sense of responsibility and ownership for your staff members and greatly helps with the complicated process of affecting behavioral change within your organisation.
The optional Peer Comparison Module ("PCM") provides a simple mechanism for comparing each staff member with their peers and then allocating them a Red Flag, Amber Flag or Green Flag to indicate whether their energy consumption is on par with, better or worse than their peers.
The optional Energy Reduction Target Module ("ERTM") introduces the concept of personal, departmental and organisational energy usage targets that can be incorporated into energy reduction schemes to help drive behavioral change within your organisation. With daily personal reports about how each individual and department is doing against their targets, some degree of change can be affected with minimal managerial input. Linked to prize systems that often give away the Bye Bye Standby Energy Saving Kit (which is designed for home use) the ERTM is a powerful way to help you deliver your messages about energy consumption reduction.
Accurate, reliable and secure
The Smart Strips utilise the latest generation of energy measuring components as used on the latest electricity metering systems. This system provides penny perfect energy measurement of equipment at an appliance level. These systems work for all office based equipment. The Starter kit can be extended with the either the Lighting Energy Monitoring Kit or the Air Conditioning Energy Monitoring Kit.
The kit utilises a meshing technology which yields an unparalleled range. Each Smart Strip communicates not just with the Zone Controller, but also with all of the other Smart Strips in the system so that if the Zone Controller is out of range of the wireless signal, the message is sent to the adjacent Smart Strip and then "passed on" to the next Smart Strip and then to the next Smart Strip etc until the information is finally delivered to the Zone Controller. This means that even large offices can be catered for with just one Energy Manager and Zone Controller. NB There is no practical limit to the number of Smart Sockets and Smart Strips you can have per installation.
All communication between the Smart Strips and other products in the BBS Professional range are encrypted using the same 128 bit encryption algorithm that is used to safeguard your credit card transactions online. This means that the system is unparalleled in its security and you can rest assured that you have complete control over your BBS Professional installation.
