Services - Fibre Optic Links
 | Reli Communications are able to offer installation and termination services for Fibre Optic cabling. Services on offer range from repairing faulty links, replacing 'hand polished' ends with fusion spliced connectors - improving performance,
terminating pre-pulled fibre for other contractors and running a complete new fibre. Fibre optic cable tends to be used for links between buildings, it isn't affected by interferance like copper cabling and can run at far greater distances at high speed. Do you have a fibre optic link at your site? Do you know which termination method was used at the time of installation? Can you be sure that the ends are clean? Fibre works by passing high speed light waves down the cable. The ends of the fibre are terminated in a ferrule - the end of the glass is then polished to create a smooth surface. Sometimes connectors aren't polished correctly, and there may be areas of the connector which don't let the light through - this can cause errors on your link and slow down your network. |
